8th of May

Today Europe is celebrating Victory Day, in commemoration of the day when the World War II Allies formally accepted the unconditional surrender of the armed forces of Nazi Germany.

In Greece, though, people are mourning the fact that almost half a million Greeks voted for the far-right political party of Golden Dawn

Reminded us somehow of May 2008: It was as if the silver dome of the qubba of the Mahdi at Omdurman shone less, when it had to overlook for many days the display of the atrocious results of another war zone in Sudan…

Remember the victories over fascism, mourn their return, and keep an eye for reappearance of their threat everywhere!
