Amidst financial and social crisis in Greece, and against the worst side effects from this, the Union of Greek Archaeologists invite today everyone to visit archaeological sites and museums where the work of an archaeologist, a conservator, a guard of a site can be explained and discussed.
With the wish that the venues will be happily full of people and that the contact of the specialists with the amateurs will not only improve the knowledge on archaeological work, but also build bridges of human contact between different classes and sectors of the Greek society, we also post a couple of photos from similar events that we have been involved in during our work in Sudan:
In 2008, at a presentation of archaeology in the context of a career fair at a school in Khartoum.

In 2010, preparing a presentation of the Medieval Sai Project at the school of Morka, on Sai Island.

In 2009, talking with locals on Sai Island about the antiquities and their significance for them and the state.
